Westward bound I went into oil country. I stopped in Epping, ND at the Lewis & Clark State Park, which was absolutely surrounded by oil wells. They were just peppered all over the place.
The scenery was beautiful, too. The Missouri River ran next to the campground and there were nice walking paths along with a rocky beach.
Did I mention I was the only camper in the entire park?
When it gets busy, this campground offers essentially no privacy with sites that are pretty close together, but fortunately, I didn’t have to worry about that during my visit. I had all the room the park had to offer.
